In "Duke of Westminster and others v Birrane", CA 10 November 1994, it was held that a leasehold mews property converted to incorporate a basement area that lay beneath the rear part of an adjoining property was not a `house` for the purposes of enfranchisement under the Leasehold Reform Act 1967.
