Universities try to make the grade

Universities try to make the grade - 2000 - Property Week 65(35) 6 October 2000, 41-42(2) .

At a summit with the universities in December 1999, the RICS demanded the former sign up better calibre students for surveying degrees. The new intake of students, who have begun studying for surveying degrees this autumn, are the first since the RICS called for improved standards. Reports on the results of the RICS's demands to date. Evidence on this year's intake suggests universities are slowly moving towards the RICS's goal of obtaining students with 17 points. However, it is questionable whether they will reach this target by 2001. Includes table comparing points required (actual and target) by different universities.
