A "mainly for students" article which looks at the benefits of partnering, and compares it to traditional procurement. The National Audit Office Report "Modernising Construction", which was published in January 2001, suggested that construction costs in the UK could be cut by up to 30% if the industry, and its clients, adopted a more collaborative approach to construction procurement. Government is thus very keen to encourage the adoption of partnering, which involves clients and contractors establishing long-term, contractual relationships for their mutual benefit.
