The government has accepted in principle the proposals in the Law Commission's report "Limitation of actions" which suggests that the Limitation Act 1980 should be repealed and replaced by a new Act. Recommendations would apply a core limitation regime to the majority of claims with a primary limitation period of three years and a 10 year longstop period.
