Biosecurity guidance published

Biosecurity guidance published - 2003 - DEFRA News Release (250/03) 1 July 2003 (2) .

In accordance with requirements under the Animal Health Act 2002 government has published new biosecurity guidance to prevent the spread of animal diseases. The guidance applies to all owners of livestock and everyone who enters a farm or premises with farm animals and will give government more ammunition to fight future outbreaks of foot-and-mouth disease. The guidance advises that animal disease is not always apparent in its early stages and that livestock owners and visitors should be clean when handling animals.
