The Office of National Statistics has published it's latest New Earnings Survey which shows that construction operatives work an average 46.5 hours a week. With certain sectors such as scaffolders, stagers and riggers working over 51 hours per week. An average week of 60 hours in London and the South East highlighting regional differences. These figures compare with an average working week of just 39.6 hours in all industries and services. The New Earnings Survey can be found at http://www.nationalstatistics.gov.uk.
