| Summary, etc. | If a public or private residential tenancy is to qualify for protection as a statutory or secure tenancy , the tenant must satisfy that he or she uses the property as his home . However, the language used by the two different types of tenancy is not the same and this article discusses three recent cases Crawley Borough Council v Sawyer , Islington London Borough v Ismail (1988) and Brickfield Properties Ltd v Hughes (1988) (See Abstract 39345) which considered whether there is any difference between the requirements for secure and statutory tenancies and if so, to what extent. |
