An originating summons whereby the plaintiffs sought declarations as to the right of the Building Societies Ombudsman to investigate complaints by nine borrowers in relation to valuations made by employees of a building society of properties to be charged to a society to secure further advances to an existing borrower. Held: the Building Society Ombudsman does have the power and jurisdiction to investigate such complai- nts, whether they were basic valuations, house buyers` reports or structural surveys.
