Buildings will now have to be assessed on the basis of the performance of the entire building, rather of each element, so that the on-site building process will have to be more tightly controlled. Offsite construction and building services engineers are likely to be the biggest beneficiaries of the new regulations. There is a general acceptance that there will be a period of transition whilst the industry adjusts to the new ways of working required by the revisions to the regulations.
