Minister launches new national forest strategy

More than five million trees have already been planted and the National Forest now covers over 500km² of Leicestershire, Derbyshire and Staffordshire. The current strategy will run till 2014 and aims to plant trees on up to 5 000 hectares of land so that wooded cover would increase by between 22% and 25%.
