Retail returns rose to 14.1% from 5.5% in 2001, industrial returns to 10.8% but office total returns more than halved from 7.6% to 3.3%. Overall, property performed well in 2002 and the index confirms that property has been the best-performing UK asset in the past three, five and 10 years.
