Formal request for casino bids
Language: English Series: Planning Portal News ; 9 February 2006Subject(s): Online resources: Summary: Local authorities in England, Scotland and Wales have been formally invited by the Casino Advisory Panel to let it know if they want a new casino in their area. The Panel has published detailed guidance on the background to this call for proposals, its evaluation procedures and specific information that it wishes to know. Under the Gambling Act 2005 one regional or Las Vegas-style casino along with eight large and eight small casinos will be permitted. The options for the regional casino will be subject to an examination in public. A number of proposals for city centre locations based around new and upgraded football stadia are expected.
