Part 4 comprises of an illustrated guide which breaks down the construction of housing into different periods starting with Pre-1850 (Historic), 1850 - 1899 (Victorian), 1900 - 1918 (Edwardian), 1919 - 1944 (Interwar), 1945 - 1964 (Early post war), 1965 - 1980 (Late post war), 1981 - 2002 (Modern) and 2003 - 2010 (New). Appendix includes a guide to dating building elements. Concludes with a glossary of architectural terms. Statistical data is taken from the English Housing Survey.
